in loving memory

LeAnne Romano Bell

Wrecks Bell's precious wife, LeAnne Bell passed into the future, June 8, 2005.

Blaze Foley

Blaze Foley spent many of the last years of his life on what people called the “couch circuit”, and Wrecks' was no exception. Blaze would blow through town, play his gigs and find a friend's couch to crash for the night or nights.

His nights could sometimes turn into weeks, but Wrecks didn’t care. Blaze was always fun to pick a few tunes with and pass around the whisky bottle. He stayed with Wrecks a couple of weeks before he went back to Austin, his home base at the time.

Wrecks found his wallet between the cushions of his couch/bed a few weeks after his death. His wallet was wrapped solid with duct tape and displayed on the “Townes” wall at the Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe. Unfortunately, the wallet was lost due to Hurricane Ike's storm surge which flooded the Old Quarter in 2008.

Dale Soffar

Dale was one of Wreck's life long best friends and partner at the original Old Quarter. He passed away February 2002.

This picture was taken at an Old Quarter Reunion for Dale at Anderson Fair in July 2001. They are singing the “O J’s Beauty Lotion” song.  Everyone loved Dale!!!
